Stephen Keshi seems to be able to do no wrong when it comes to The National Team.The home based Eagles while tuning up for the upcoming African Championships which is strictly for the home based African players,beat the 1st Team of Ethiopia again.This happened in Abuja Nigeria in what Keshi called a very impressive performance.He says:“The scoreline is not important for me, but how key the team is in terms of discipline and tactical display, and I am happy with what I saw.
“This is because it was just yesterday that we did the drills and they could remember it throughout the 90 minutes. So, I am impressed.”
He further said “Their team (Ethiopia) is a national team and they have been together for a long time and they have experience, because it is the same team we played against in Calabar (during the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers last November).” A lot of the players who qualified the Eagles for the tournament ,Sunday Mba for example will not be available because they have since been signed by European teams.This has weakened the squad but the results seems to suggest otherwise.Just goes to show the abundance in Talent Nigeria has and with the right people in charge we would prosper.Anything less than the finals would be a disappointment for Nigeria ,weakened squad or not.
