Literary Icon and Africa's first Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on Saturday urged former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to assist in rescuing abducted Chibok schoolgirls . Soyinka charged former Obasanjo to assist in bringing back the abducted girls since he publicly said he had links with the sect . He said the former President’ s effort was very important as it would help to right his wrongs as President of the country . Meanwhile, Professor Soyinka also expressed shock at a photograph of President Goodluck Jonathan and his children posted on social media recently during the Fathers ’ Day celebration while many
parents were still sorrowing about the abduction of the over 200 girls from Chibok, Borno State, Nigeria. He wondered if it was an attempt to provoke Nigerians saying though he was happy with the President for being able to celebrate the Fathers’ Day with his daughters and posted the photograph on his Facebook wall , Jonathan should remember that he is the Commander- In- Chief and in charge of security in the country . “ The military should be used for intensified works to bring back the girls , not to harass the governors , ” he said , urging the President to use some of the energy expended posting the photograph to post the military to areas of the country where they are really needed and not in any act against the constitution .
