Nigeria has called 23 players for the forthcoming African Nations Cup Group A qualifying matches against Congo on Sept. 6 and South Africa on Sept. 10.
Surprisngly Peter Odemwingie has been dropped.I can't understand why,he was one of
Nigeria's best players in Brazil at the world cup.Yobo was not included as well but he had announced his retirement from the Super Eagles anyway.Shola Ameobi was dropped and rightly so.He has no business in the Super Eagles. He is way past his best.

Victor Moses was drooped.Big mistake, how can you drop Victor Moses yet leave Mikel Obi who has been a passenger in the team? Nigeria recalled Schalke forward Chinedu Obasi and Spain-based midfielder Nosa Igiebor for the Group A qualifying matches against Congo on Sept. 6 and South Africa on Sept. 10.
Fullback Elderson Echiejile, who missed the World Cup because of injury, has also been picked but exactly who named the 23-man squad was not revealed by the Nigerian Football Federation as coach Stephen Keshi has yet to sign a promised contract renewal, local reports said.Keshi speaking from his base in the Us said he was not in a hurry to et to Nigeria:“My brother, I am not in a hurry to come down, because I want things to be tidied up first. I have my men on the ground doing all the negotiations, and as I have been saying, I am not ready for any slavish deal this time.”
On the released list of players for the qualifiers against Congo and South Africa, he said it was done in consultation with the relevant hands in the technical team so as to make things easy for whoever is going to do the job. He added that it is not as if he has ruled himself out, but that the NFF authorities will determine everything. “As for me, I like my country, but this time I want us to work with much mutual respect. For now you can say I am still enjoying with my family here in the US.’’
Keshi says he is in no hurry to get back to Nigeria from the US.

Nothing has changed as usual in Nigeria.A qualifying game and nobody in the country knows if we have a coach or not.And the height of arrogance and impunity that Nigerian Officials show, did not make them stop to think for a minute that they owe some transparency or explanation to the Football supporters of the country! I'm just so tired of complaining and talking about these men with no clue at the NFF!
