I don't think anyone really saw this coming,of all the names thrown into the ring to be Buhari's running mate,that of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo probably came last.
But the All Progressives Congress has indeed picked former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as the
running mate of the APC presidential candidate, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.).
Prof.Osinbajo who is also a pastor of the Reedeemed Church,served as justice commissioner during the tenure of former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.He is a professor of Law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and many believe he may be a candidate of Tinubu.He is said to be 55 years old while Buhari is 72.
Personally i am not sure this choice makes the APC bid stronger.Why go for an unknown as Buhari's running mate,when you had the likes of Oshiomhole and Amaechi who could really have pushed the momentum button a gear up?
I think Nigeria needs a strong VP.A man as strong or even stronger than whoever the president is gonna be,we don't need a VP who will be quietly left in his place.I mean look at Vice President Sambo for example,i couldn't tell you one thing the man has done or chmpioned while in office.
We need both men on the attacking fronts constantly.Now i could be wrong about Prof. Yemi Osinbajo,but from what i have read of his resume,i haven't seen him do much in public life.Its like asking a total unknown to be the assistant manager of Chelsea or Real Madrid after 5 very bad seasons.I'm not sure about this,but i hope Prof. Yemi Osinbajo proves me wrong as a VP OF Nigeria,if elected.
