Like many other Nigerians,i had no idea who Alhaji Gay was before yesterday,suddenly Alhaji Gay became the most popular man to Nigerian online users as he was trending on twitter.I'm sure he trended in some African countries as well.The first thing that baffled me among many was,why was he called Alhaji Gay? It didn't add up,an Alhaji would usually be a pious muslim.You would associate such a name to a man who supposedly was a very religious man.Not that all Alhaji's are religious,but that would be the first impression.The next thing was,why would so many people openly celebrate another man's death?I shockingly got my answer to both questions.
Well,i'm not Queen Olofofo of Naija blog for nothing lol,so i decided to investigate.
On doing some research,i was shocked that Alhaji Gay was on the streets a free man at all.This man was a walking crime scene! He extorted,raped,allegedly killed people,terrorized innocent people,defrauded both the guilty and innocent,while at the same time making out to be on the side of
the law by cohabiting with the EFCC and Police at Alagbon,although understandably the EFCC are denying that now.
If he was not officially working for the EFCC,Alhaji Gay was working with some of them unofficially.
One of the cases of Alhaji Gay's atrocities that made me the maddest, was when he raped a young man of 18.This explains why Alhaji Gay was called that Gay.He was actually gay for real,which is okay,but when you are raping innocent young boys,it becomes something else.
Another shocking thing about this incident was,this happened as far back as 2009!
The police in Area ‘G’, Ogba, actually declared Alhaji Rasaq Tunji Alaso,aka Alhaji Gay a wanted man. He was billed as a man who resides at 7, Barusam Avenue, Alagbado, Lagos, and wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year-old boy.
The 18 year old boy was a boy who worked as a petrol station attendant ,he went up to the boy several times promising to help him get a job as he said that place was not a good place for him to work.
He then asked the boy to come see him at home,the boy got there at night,having gone from work.He drugged the Don Simon drink he gave to the boy forcibly with the help of two men,the boy felt weak and he was raped by Alhaji Gay!
The boy then claimed Alhaji Gay took a white handkerchief,cleaned and saved the semen.Gosh!
The boy could not tell his parents,what happened,but after four day and not being able to excrete,while at the same time in so much pain,the boy was forced to tell his father.The father took him to the Area G police station Ogba,and Alhaji Gay was declared a wanted man!
Now the case got to court,but unfortunately,i was not able to find out what happened.Alhaji Gay has very close associates with police in his area,the Ogba area,so he probably bought and bribed his way out! He was said to have done this many times.Tunji Alaso ,also many times apprehended Yahoo boys forcefully,taking their cars,money and properties.
There have been stories when he had taken as much as 10 million Naira from the Yahoo boys,he has seized many Suv cars,especially Range Rovers.He confirmed this himself in an open letter he wrote to the Police to deny all the claims about him.
In the letter,Alhaji Gay said,he helps the police and community clean up crime by arresting the Yahoo boys in operation with the EFCC.He claimed to have arrested over 500 yahoo boys also known as 419 and seized many SUV cars as well as laptops,phones and millions of Naira!
But the truth of the matter is what Alhaji Gay did was completely different to this.
What he did was pick targets,especially students from LAUTECH who were his favourite targets,he picked those who are visibly rich,takes some EFCC officials and police men with him,make up an allegation that someone had complained about the victim.They come with some fake documents and take the victims to the EFCC office to authenticate their claims.
The yahoo boy by now is panicky and wants to avoid jail and the court,so they seize all the property found on him and take bribes from 500k upward to millions of Naira!
In some instances, Alhaji Gay and his gang members are so notorious that they would plant incriminating documents in either their victim's car or house. Many innocent Lagosians, fell prey to Gay’s notorious antics. So many of his victims who spoke with a certain medium investigating him,did so under conditions of anonymity because of the fears that they may be harrassed by dubious security operatives, they accused him of many atrocities including ritual killings and sodomizing some of his victims.Many people who were picked on and could not come up with the money Alhaji Gay and his men demanded,were charged to court by the EFCC on trumped up charges and jailed! Some of them are reportedly still in jail today!
And i haven't even mentioned cases of people they forcibly took their lands and property.These were innocent people!

Stuffs recovered from the ex-Governor's son and his gang included 3 Range Rover Sport SUV, two brand new 2013 Benz, three G Wagon Benz and $152,000 USD in cash with "juju" in their wardrobe...
This was in 2014. There was also another University student who talked about how Alhaji Gay came to his house and seized his Range Rover sports with millions of Naira and properties! I could go on and on,but by now ,you would have got the gist of the kind of person Alhaji Gay was and why Yahoo Boy or 419 boys were so happy he died or was killed!
This man was a one man Mafia.The surprising thing was Alhaji Gay had 2 hotels in the Ogba area.He could have quietly enjoyed his life and money from those hotels.But he made his money from armed robbery and thuggery back in his days at Ibadan i read,so that culture was still in him and hard to leave behind.
You live by the gun,you die by the gun! He wasn't killed by a gun,but you know what i mean.
So for all those of you wondering why Alhaji Gay was killed and why the celebration,i hope this article helps you understand why.
I am not justifying it,just saying these were reasons why people were after him and why he was finally killed!
He met his death due to a dispute in which he was accused of grabbing other people's land.There was a meeting with various landlords of the Alagbado area,who accused Alhaji gay of being a rapist and a land grabber,his boys attacked some people and fired gun shots sporadically.Two people were hit by the gun shots,one was seriously injured and died before he got to the hospital while the otehr survived.The youths of the area on hearing about the dead man were aggrieved.They re-enforced and fighting broke out with Alhaji Gay Tunji Alaso's boys.He was stabbed and killed.
