Today marks four years since Amy Winehouse’s death at age 27, and the world is still reeling from the early loss of such a talent.
Even years after her death by alcohol poisoning, the “Back to Black” singer continues to win new fans, thanks in part to the new documentary film “Amy.”
Directed by Asif Kapadia, the film uses home videos and interviews with Winehouse’s
friends to chronicle the singer’s career and her ultimate downfall, as well as celebrate the iconic tracks Winehouse released.

“The difference between her and most people is she had talent that put her in the world stage,” Bey said. “She did more with her talent than just use dope. As a matter of fact, she brought you some joy. She made you feel good. She made you go wow, that was amazing.”
Bey pleaded with the audience to remember Winehouse for more than just her public unraveling.
“She did more with her life than make mistakes, or get high or be messy,” he said. “In her short life, she did a lot more with her time than people who have a lot more time than her.”
“Amy” is in theaters now.
