The singer, songwriter and actress Tiwatope Savage born 5th of February 1980. The singer born in Isale Eko later relocated to London at the age of 11, where she had her secondary school education. Five years after she began her career in music doing backup vocals for Mary J. Blige and George
Michael among others.
She participated in the Uk edition of X Factor and graduating from Berklee College of Music. She later signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2009. Tiwa inspired by the growth of the Nigerian music industry, she moved back to Nigeria and signed with Mavins Records owned by Don Jazzy in 2012. She made her first appearance on the label's 2012 compilation album Solar Plexus.
Her debut studio album "Once upon a time" was released in July 3 2013, It followed with seven singles: "Kele Kele Love, Love Me, Ife Wa Gbono, Olorun Mi, Eminado, Folarin and Without My Heart" the album gained a nomination for Best Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigerian Entertainment Awards, also for Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2014. Her second studio album R.E.D was released in 2015. It yielded two singles "My Darlin and Standing Ovation".

In 2016 Tiwa signed a management and publishing deal with Roc nation. There after she released her debut EP Sugarcane.
R.E.D and Sugarcane have both been nominated for Best Album at Nigeria Entertainment Awards. The singer also won Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards, breaking the record of becoming the first woman to win the category. On May 2019 Savage announced her record deal with Universal Music Group and her unfortunate exit from Mavin Records.
Tiwa sings in a mixture of both English and Yoruba, she has a blend of Afrobeats, R&B, hip-hop and pop. Tiwa has been involved in youth empowerment and breast cancer screening projects and has raised funds to build school in Nigeria.
Tiwatope Savage was married to Tunji Balogun, popularly "Tee Billz", the couple held their traditional marriage at Ark in Lekki while the white was held at the Armani Hotel in Dubai. The couple announced the arrival of their first child on April 28, 2016.
Months later Balogun accused Tiwa of infidelity and her mother of witchcraft. Tiwa in an interview with the Pulse Nigeria debunked her husband's claims of infidelity and she threw accusations of drug addictions, Financial recklessness and abandonment on him. She also announced the end of their marriage.
Tiwa is now single and has Custody of the one child the couple's marriage produced.
