Tony Allen death.Afro beat pioneer and drummer of Fela Anikulapo Kuti,Tony Allen has died in France.His cause of death is a heart attack at the age of 80.
Tony had reportedly been complaining of chest pains since about a week ago.He went to the hospital and was deemed to be ok.
But things took a turn for the worse on Thursday the 30th of April,he was rushed to the hospital but
died of a heart attack.
Allen had been a pivotal part of a music genre that has been so influential across the world.In his later years,he got to play with many younger musicians,mixing his unique styleof drumming with western music.Amongst those he collaborated with,are Damon Alban,Zap Mama and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
He and Fela teamed up in 1964,he earlier played in Victor Olaiya's band.
