Keshi Gives excuses for Iran Match&JJ Okocha blames him for defeat

nigeria vs iran 2014 world cup

Reactions have come in from the main culprits of the Super Eagles after last nights debacle with Iran.It was arguably the worst match Nigeria has ever played at any tournament.

The two culprits in question are coach Keshi an
d Mikel Obi the engine of the team whom so much was expected of.
Keshi's lame excuse after the game was:
“We played very well in the first half. The forwards were very active and they had a couple of chances to score, though we couldn’t put them away. We lost our shape in the second half. I felt we could have won the game but we were lacking a bit of inspiration on the pitch.I wanted victory in this match, in fact, I want to win all the matches but this is football, that even when you
dominate a game, you still don't get the result "
Keshi got so many decisions wrong.Taking off Victor Moses who was at least trying to create and replacing him with Shola Ameobi. If you want to break down a team and create chances,do you bring on Ameobi when you have Osaze on the bench?
Also he left Ahmed Musa on the pitch who was terrible and took off Moses. When Osaze came on we all saw how he played. Why play one attacker against Iran? If you are not brave enough to play two strikers against Iran who had never won a single world cup point, what are you gonna do against Argentina and Bosnia?
Also he brings on Osaze and drops him in mid field, why not pushing up front we were looking for goals? And why does he always sit on that bench 90mins? I have never seen a top manager in the world sit on the bench for 90 minute..you have to get on the pitch and gee your boys up..when you sit down like you are in your living room the boys will think they are doing well.Seeing you on the sideline gees them up..Even Alex Ferguson in his 70s does not sit down for 90mins.If Fergie,Mourinho,Wenger,Guardiola, and all the top coach can do it..what's wrong with Keshi? Why is he so speacial? Is that silly Big Boss name gone to his head?
I am so glad to see that JJ Okocha was not shy to point out that Keshi was wrong and responsible for the draw..in an interview with Super sports after the game he said:
"Keshi should be held responsible for the way the team played. Beforethe match he said African teams are tactically not disciplined and he did not bring anything new to the table.
"His changes were poor. He took out Moses and brought in Ameobi. I think that was a wrong change.
"We saw how Osaze came in and showed a lot of creativity. That is the kind of thing we expected. Iran match would have been our strongest point but we missed it."
I could not have put it any better, all these things were so simple and so obvious for any fan to see..Keshi should have left that winning cup of Nations side alone and maybe introduce a minimum of just 2 players to the start..they were a good team and they will have gained more confidence and got even better playing together..instead he has mixed up the team several times and kept cjopping and changing.I will never understand why Sunday Mba was not on that plane..we missed him badly last night.
Mikel Obi is a diffrent matter,he looked lazy, tired and short of ideas last night..no zeal or movement..just slow and passing the ball from side to side..this was his own feeble excuse:
“We looked for the win, but Iran knew what we wanted to do and put 11 men behind the ball. They managed to stop us from playing our game.”
As if Iran was gonna come over and lay down saying score goals.
I am still hopeful because we cannot play any worse than we did against Iran..so maybe Bosnia will think we are easy and get over confident..i still think we can qualify, but i am only hoping.
On his own part, Mikel said: “We looked for the win, but Iran knew what we wanted to do and put 11 men behind the ball. They managed to stop us from playing our game.”
