|Dr Adadevoh saved Nigerians from an Ebola epidemic but was left off the National Honours list.
Dr Ameyo Adadevoh, the Nigerian doctor who was infected by Patrick Sawyer of Ebola disease left a legacy behind. But for her,the tragedy would have been far greater than it was because Dr Adadevoh stopped Patrick Sawyer leaving her hospital, even though Sawyer tried everything possible to leave.Dr Adaddevoh ignored protocol orders from the top and detained Patrick Sawyer despite his insistence. She lost her life as a result as well all know now.But Nigerians have since clamoured for her to be honoured.
So imagine their disappointment when the latest list of National Award recipiants were announced and Dr Adadevoh's name was missing.Nigerians were not happy at all and they have been making their feelings known. The special adviser to the President on public affairs,Dr Doyin Okupe took to twitter to explain to Nigerians why she wasn't honoured.
He said she was not honoured because Nigerian laws does not give out National awards post humously.Something i personally find very silly.Anyway as expected a lot of people on twitter didn't like that explanation and there was an exchange between them and Dr Okupe..see what transpired below in the tweets.
