Spanish Govt to kill dog as tests say Dogs can spread Ebola Virus

The Ebola virus seems to have many ways of attacking than expected.The latest shocking news is that dogs too can carry the virus as Madrid's regional government says it's going to kill the pet
dog of a Spanish (nurse)woman who became infected with Ebola.

Authorities said in a statement Tuesday that available scientific knowledge indicates there's a risk the dog could transmit the deadly virus to humans.

This is a sad occurrence,that poor dog having to die,and might not even be infected by Ebola yet,but surely the Spanish authorities would have tested the dog wouldn't they?Or are they just gonna kill the dog as a precaution?

The Spanish nursing assistant became the first case of Ebola being transmitted outside of West Africa after she cared for a Spanish priest in Madrid who died of Ebola last month. She and her husband are now in quarantine.

The government said the dog, named Excalibur, would be euthanized in a way to avoid suffering and using bio-security measures that it did not specify. Its body will later be incinerated.

The family as you can imagine objected to this,for a lot of pet owners,their dogs are part of the family.The government had to get a court order for the euthanization over the family's objections.

The Spanish authorities are now monitoring more than 50 people who came in contact with the Nurse who has been infected with Ebola virus.
