The Senate President, David Mark has now ordered the shut down of the National Assembly till Tuesday next week, November 25th, following this morning's chaos in which the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, and other lawmakers were allegedly teargassed and prevented from entering the Assembly complex. Mark announced this moments ago at the Senate plenary session.
Earlier,The Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal arrived the National Assembly today with a view to preside over the sitting of the House but fierce looking troops numbering up to a thousand posted outside the National Assembly stopped him at the gate. A melee has ensued as a result.
Mr. Tambuwal, President Goodluck Jonathan and the ruling People’s Democratic Party are at loggerheads over the Speaker’s decision to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC) a few weeks ago.
Immediately he joined the APC his personal security guards were withdrawn on the orders of the President.
The IG of police has also been ordered to appear before the House to explain what happened today.So 3 days that could have been spent,debating ,reviewing and passing laws that would help Nigeria,will now be wasted and non existent because the childish boys,sorry men in the National assembly have thrown their toys out of their prams! Shaking my head for Nigeria!
