Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp will leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season.The German club confirmed this today.
Jurgen Klopp one of the most revered coaches in Europe has had a very bad season by his
own standards.Borussia Dortmaund who are normally used to competing with Bayern Munich ,have spent most of the season battling relegation,drawing much attention to the future of Jurgen Klopp.
The 47-year-old German,Klopp, asked to be released from his contract, which had been due to run until 2018.
He has coached Dortmund since 2008, taking them to two league titles and the Champions League final in 2012-13.
But this season they were bottom of the table in January before reaching their current 10th place - 37 points behind leaders Bayern Munich
Regarded as one of the most talented coaches in Europe, the charismatic Klopp led Dortmund to successive Bundesliga titles and became the first Dortmund coach to win the domestic double.
He also lead them to the Champions League final, in which they were beaten 2-1 by fellow German side Bayern Munich at Wembley.
Klopp has frequently been linked with Premier League clubs, including Manchester United before the appointment of Louis van Gaal, Arsenal during lean spells at the Emirates, and latterly with defending champions Manchester City, who have dropped to fourth in the table, 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.
