I was just thinking myself,why hasn't Gov.Fashola said anything about Oba Akiolu's vow to drown the Igbo's in the Lagoon?
And now the PDP in Lagos state says that the 48-hour silence of Governor Fashola since the Oba of Lagos made death threats to Igbos indicates that not only is Fashola in agreement with what the Oba said, but that the Oba spoke on behalf of the state government.
In a statement released today, the party demanded for the suspension of the Oba until after the elections. The statement reads in part;
"The governor is thus a conspirator in this threat to life and must also be held accountable for any violence in this elections. We have at this point been vindicated about the desperation of the APC to retain Lagos state at all cost including the All Progressives Congress’ plan not to concede the imminent defeat on April 11. The positions of the PDP are coming on the heels of the now viral threat issued by the Oba of Lagos to Igbos that they must vote for the APC Governorship Candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, or be drowned in Lagos water."This must be a very awkward moment for the APC.The Oba of Lagos is obviously a powerful man,who has a say in certain things going on in the APC.It's life being a policeman and having to go and arrest your dad..very awkward.But Fashola has to say something..I'm sure there will be some serious spin doctoring going on behind closed doors..but the video emerging haas really spoilt things for the Oba and the APC.If the video of Oba Akioye castigating the Igbo's had not surfaced,they would most definitely have said he was misquoted.But how do you misquote what is seen on video with a clear audio? And this precisely is the problem the Oba of Lagos and the APC have,Gov Fashola included.But Fashola has always portrayed himself a man of integrity,therefore he has to say somethin..and not only saying something,he has to let it be known that,the Oba of Lagos was out of order to have said those things to the Igbo's.And those Igbo representative at that meeting should be ashamed of themselves for applauding the Oba while he was saying this things..totally unbelievable!
