Lieutenant Commander Zimasa Mabela makes history as First African woman to take charge of US Navy vesse!
Lieutenant Commander Zimasa Mabela made history today, August 26 when she took command of a navy vessel. She’s the first African woman to assume this position. Mabela will be at the helm of SAS Umhloti (South African Navy ship) after taking over from the officer in charge, Commander Brian Shor.
