Biafra Protesters storm Alaba Market in Lagos(photos)

There was a protest at Alaba international market in Lagos. Biafra supporters stormed the market and asked traders to join them in protesting the long detention of their leader, Kanu Nnamdi. They have also asked the traders not to open their shops tomorrow in support of the movement. Police and soldiers are now on ground to ensure there is law and order.Meanwhile, the case of the Biafran activist Kanu was discharged at the Magistrates court today. It is believed this was so that the case could be handled by a superior court that
can try serious cases such as terrorism and treason.

Magistrate of the Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, Shuaibu Usman, on Wednesday discharged the Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on all counts of criminal conspiracy and ownership of an unlawful society brought against him by the federal government.

After holding that the government had dropped the charges against Kanu, the judge ruled:  “The accused person is hereby discharged and the case struck out.”  More photos below.
