A Ghanaian groom has gone viral on the internet for breaking down in tears and crying on his wedding day as his bride walked down the aisle.
A groom has revealed the real reason he broke down in tears as he saw his bride walking down the aisle on their wedding day.

The groom Gabriel Deku, from London, was overcome with emotion as he saw his wife-to-be Annabella walking towards him at their lavish ceremony at St Martin In The Fields church at Trafalgar Square.

Cameras captured the moment his beautiful bride made her way to the altar in a poignant

video – but the minute Gabriel caught a glimpse of her the tears started flowing.

The congregation broke into loud cheers when they saw the 25-year-old’s reaction, while his best man, Tolu Ige, encouraged him to hold it together.

Gripping his friend by the shoulder, Tolu, who first introduced the couple four years ago, urged: ‘Come on, stand up, stand up. This is your moment, man. You look at her.

‘You look at her now, you look at her man. You look at her. You stand up and you look at your wife.’

Evidently struggling to stem the tears, Gabriel, who met his wife in a Ted Baker store in 2012, wiped his eye while his friend said: ‘You look her in the eye.’

By the time the pair embraced, the whole congregation were in tears – including the bridesmaids. Annabella, 24, an account manager, was walked down the aisle by her mother, Damaris.

Gabriel told MailOnline: ‘Leading up to the wedding I was the complete opposite – I actually had a bet with my mum that I wouldn’t cry.

‘Seeing her there, I suddenly felt a big appreciation of what I actually have. Knowing that I’m in a relationship like that made me really overjoyful; where someone loves me unconditionally.’

He added: ‘She looked so beautiful. We have different characters; she is actually the more emotional one in the relationship, while I was trying to be the hard man. I kept saying, I’m not going to cry.’

But Gabriel insisted that he did manage to hold it together during the reception and speeches, saying: ‘I had a bit of nerves, I was OK.’

The bride Anna Deku, later  revealed via instagram that they both dated for four years and waited till marriage to have sex. Below is what she shared on Instagram five days ago:
"If someone told me 4 years ago that me and my future husband would be waiting until marriage to have sex, I would have been on the floor laughing lol! But all things are definitely possible through Christ.

We live in a "try before you buy" world. A world where we are told to do whatever makes us "happy" in the short term. A world where having self-control is a bad thing. A world where we can somehow get the result without going through the process. I remember in my last relationship, when I decided to stop having sex, I was able to clearly see the negative attributes I wasn't seeing before. Some of you are in relationships that you shouldn't be in but the sex gives you a false sense of intimacy and connection that wouldn't be there if you weren't having sex. People think we follow rules but we follow our Father who loves us more than we love each other. We choose to submit to our creator who knows us better than we know ourself and it has been so worth it. The depth of conversations, the way we resolve arguments, the foundation of our relationship. All established before the sex"
