Goals and Highlights of Nigeria vs Algeria today plus analysis of Victor Moses.

The Nigeria vs Algeria game today 12th of November ended in a 3-1 victory for the Super Eagles. The match was a potential banana peel for the Nigerians as the Algerians are currently a power house in African football, but like i have always said,if Nigeria gets their house in order,we should beat any team in Africa! The Nigeria vs Algeria today showing, further proved that.
Victor Moses showed today he is a great talent who could become a world superstar.I think starring in Chelsea's team as a regular starter ahead of his captain Mikel Obi has also given him immense confidence. He was absolutely unplayable today with 2 out of the 3 goals.

The match itself was played in the beautiful Uyo stadium. This is another thing that upsets me.There
is no crowd like theLagos crowd. We should be playing in lagos with a full 70,000 crowd behind us.That alone is a goal ahead in any game. But our corrupt leaders have messed up the Lagos stadium and left it in tatters. Now we play in an empty Abuja stadium or we play in paces like Uyo which has 20-30,000 capacity. But i will still choose it above Abuja anyday.

Victor Moses even though he was the man of the match needs to lear some lessons. He was very silly today.I will tell you why.He scored a fabulous goal in the 26th minute when he burst through the Algerian defence to shoot into the right hand side of the helpless North African goalkeeper. What did he then do?He took of his shirt in celebration. How can you take off your shirt in the 6th minute in this day and age? When you very well know the referee will give you a yellow card? That could have been very expensive for Nigeria because if the Algerians had any brain, they should have got him sent off.All they had to do was annoy him with little fowls and he would react,2nd yellow card and he is off!

I hope the officials warn him about this.Do this against the Europeans or South Americans and he will pay for it.

His second goal came in the 90th minue,to settle nerves and seal the game.Because after Nigeria went 2 goals up,the Algerians threw all caution to the wind and could have had at least 2 goals if not for poor finishing. They eventually got the goal of the match in the nd half in the 67th minute.Out of nothing Nabil Bentaleb scored a cracking goal from way outside the box and the Nigerian goalkeeper had no answer to the super shot.
But credit to the super eagles, they hung on in there and could have had further goals as well.Iheanachor missed a sitter in the second half.

But the most remarkable moment of the game was the nd goal scored by Captain Mikel obi in the 42nd minute.Etebo had played a through ball to mikel Obi who found himself alone facing the goalkeeper.Everybody in the stadium thought it was off side and stopped for a second,Mikel included. But he looked over at the referee who did not react and then placed the ball low to the keeper's left into an empty net.

The Algerians protested thinking it was offside, but a replay showed the referee was clearly spot on

Congratulations Nigeria. We now have 6 points out of  games and it was further good news when Cameroon and Zambia who Nigeria had beaten in the first match, played a 1-1 draw.

Nigeria leads the table while Cameroon has 2 points,Zambia and Algeria have a point each.Only 1 team can qualify from this group of death for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Here is the line up of the players in the Nigeria vs Algeria game today...
Nigeria Team: Akpeyi, Omeruo, Troost-Ekong, Balogun, Echiejile; Mikel, Onani; Iwobi, Etebo, Victor Moses; Iheanacho

Algeria Team: M’Bolhi; Aissa Mandi, Ghoulam, Belkaroui, Mahrez, Taider, Brahimi, Medjani, Slimani, Bentaleb, Khoutir Ziti

By the way ,isn't it amazing that Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa cannot even get into the team? And that Nigeria still won comfortably even without talismatic goalkeeper Carl Ikeme?
