Biography of Naira Marley covers his wives,children,net worth,real name,arrests with EFCC,cars and how he started in music.The singer and songwriter Afeez Fashola,was born on 9th of May 1994.

Naira who was born in Agege, Lagos State, Nigeria moved to Peckham, South London, England at age eleven. He studied at Porlock Hall before attending Walworth School where he had his General Certificate of Secondary Education. Naira Marley graduated with a distinction in business from Peckham Academy. He also studied
business law at Crossways College


While growing, he had plans of being a voice-over artist and an MC. He began his music career in 2014 after discovering his passion for music and was also encouraged by friends to pursue music. He released his Max Twigz assisted track "Marry Juana" before releasing his debut EP "Gotta Dance" in 2015.


Shedding further light on how his career took off,the rapper revealed while on an interview with Olisa Adibua on the show called "the truth",how he made £250,000 pounds on the streets of London.He then decided to invest the money in music industry on others.He wanted to be behind the scenes.
“I didn’t even mean to go into the studio. My plan was to invest in people freestyling around me because they were so talented,” he said.
“So eventually, we went into the studio, we had so much time and they made lots of records, you know. But we had too much time on our hands, I made just one song.
“By the time we left the studio; imagine we had 10 songs, but it was my song that everybody was singing, so I was just baffled, you know. People kept forcing me to send them the song… Everyone around me already knew the lyrics. So, one day we were chilling when one of my friends with a camera told me to shoot a video (for the song) with the camera.
“We shot the video unplanned and it had like four million views in three weeks. Basically, that’s how I got into music and I can’t stop.”
He however refused to say how je made the £250,000.All he would say when pressed further was:
“I was picking money on the streets in England, it was so easy,I was doing mad things.”

Naira sings both in English, Pidgin and Yoruba, his songs are a blend of Afrobeats and Hip-hop. His stage name was inspired by the the Jamaican Singer Bob Marley, who he admires. His dreadlocks are also a tribute to Bob.

The artist started gaining controversy when he released his song titled "Am I A Yahoo Boy" in May 2019, which led to the arrest of him and Zlatan who also featured in the song. He was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that same day. He also released another song "Soapy" on 27 June 2019, a few days after his release from prison. On the 1st of January 2020 he won the award for Viewer's choice at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards.

The artsist continues to stay in the limelight with his controversial tweets and the things his fan base "the Marlians" do in his name and recently he surrendered himself to the police force after he was pointed out to be among the guests present at the party hosted by Actress Funke Akindele and her hubby.  While others were arraigned to court, Afeez opted to settle out of court and as of today he sent an apology to the court while also paying a fine of 100k.
