Really sad news coming through in the Nigerian football circles today.Ex Kano Pillars midfielder, Abdul Haruna has died this evening during a friendly match in Kano. The player collapsed during the friendly match between his colleagues and some overseas-based professionals held on a very small pitch in Kano.
There is not enough checks being done on these sportsmen in Africa particularly.Some have heart
diseases or a history of it in their family,and no matter how fit you are,if this is not attended to.its like a time bomb that can go off anytime.
According to Pillars media officer, Idris Malikawa the death of Haruna remains a mystery to the club. He said Haruna fell down unchallenged and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
The club prayed for his soul to rest in perfect peace.
