So once again Aliko Dangote has made his intention of buying Arsenal football club known. This is not the first time we are learning of the Dangote Arsenal deal story will fill the airwaves.  Africa's richest man Dangote has talked about his intention to buy Arsenal a few years previously, but however he insists any takeover will take "three to four years".

So should the Gunners fans be excited that Dangote plans to buy Arsenal?Would he do better than
those in the helms of power right now at the Emirates?Well,to start with Dangote is a football fan and and Arsenal fan at that,so they might actually have an owner who not only wants to make money but actually see the team win things. We all know Arsenal has become the no win team lately with only 2 FA Cups to show in 11 years or thereabouts.

The 59-year-old, a lifelong Arsenal fan who has a net worth of $16.7bn (£12.86bn) has previously stated his plans to purchase the Premier League club, but will wait for gas and oil investments to develop before focusing his efforts on North London.

"Maybe three to four years," he told Bloomberg TV. "The issue is that we have more challenging headwinds. I need to get those out the way first and start having tailwinds. Then I'll focus on this. It's not about buying Arsenal and just continuing with business as usual.

"It's about buying Arsenal and turning it around. I've run a very successful business and I think I can also run a very successful team. Right now, with what we're facing, over $20bn of projects, I cannot do both."

It should also be noted that Arsenal is the most supported club in Nigeria, thanks to Nwankwo Kanu who converted many fans during his stay with the club.So many Nigerians are very excited at a fellow Nigerian acquiring their team.So could the Dangote Arsenal bid happen?Well, when money is involved nothing is impossible.

Dangote believes his success in the business world, despite the loss of $4.4bn this year due largely to the depreciation of Nigeria’s currency, proves he is the right man to transform Arsenal’s fortunes, after years of relative stagnation under Kroenke and manager Arsene Wenger.
